This is a very rare postmark, because the location is only an area not an actual post town. I think that this is the only such instance known in all the thousands of different postmarks which have ever sponsored. Certainly against the rules as they exist today!
The above Royal Mail Royal Wedding 1981 were issued on 22 July 1981 by Royal Mail and feature the following stamp designs: 14p, 25p Portrait of Charles & Diana. The South Lakeland first day cover with the South Lakeland, Special Handstamp postmark has been produced by Bradbury and features these stamps which can make a very collectible and lovely gift.
