On 6th February 1952 His Majesty, King George VI, died peacefully in his sleep at Sandringham House. Princess Elizabeth, who was in Kenya at the time, immediately became Queen at the age of 25. To commemorate this event Royal Mail has issued this new Sapphire Blue £5 High-Value Definitive with the inscription: '65th Anniversary of Accession' as an iridescent overprint.
The above Royal Mail 65th Anniversary of Queen's Accession were issued on 06 February 2017 by Royal Mail and feature the following stamp designs: £5 Machin Sapphire Blue.
